Lawrence Police investigate after toddler found dead in parked car

Police in Lawrence are investigating the death of a 2-year-old child who was found unattended in a car at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police say a passerby found the toddler's body in a parked car near Iowa Street.

Investigators have been in contact with the family -0 and say they're working to figure out how the child died.

No other information has been released.

The organization Kids in Cars says this is the second death of a child found in a hot car in Kansas this year and the 32nd nationwide.
