Learning Center teaches students cognitive skills
Grasping concepts in the classroom isn't easy for everyone but Learning Rx in Hutchingson is reaching out to students who have trouble with cognitive skills like memory and reasoning.
Brain training is meant to get the root of the problem behind why some students struggle with learning.
One mom who brings three of her children here says she felt like she was the problem because she home schooled them.
After doing cognitive testing, she learned that one struggles with dyslexia, another needed help with focusing while the third struggled with memory.
"Just seeing the results from that test gives you a lot of freedom. You are able to understand your kids better and to realize they're not just being disobedient, they're not just being disciplined. There are real struggles here so I'm able to give grace to them and so just to be able to understand," says Tabitha Clark.
Her husband, a businessman, even signed up for classes to help with memory and processing speeds.
She says her 8-year-old son has jumped two grade levels in reading
while her 6-year-old daughter is finally confident with the alphabet.
The biggest reward the brain training has given her kids is their confidence.
