Lindsborg City Council approves resolution in response to racist messages at Bethany College

LINDSBORG, Kan. The Lindsborg City Council on Monday unanimously approved a resolution showing support for Bethany College after a small group wrote racist comments in chalk on the university's sidewalks.

The city says Resolution No. 14-16 is "A resolution supporting and promoting diversity and inclusiveness within the City of Lindsborg."

Lindsborg Mayor Bill Taylor signed the resolution after the council passed it. Bethany College President William Jones showed his appreciation for the council's actions in a comment on his Sept. 16 Facebook post on the incident.

"Thank you for supporting Bethany College, the Jones family, and "people of good faith in the community," Jones wrote.
