Haysville man arrested in death of 4-month-old daughter

A Haysville man is charged in the death of his four-month-old daughter.

Andrew Franklin appeared in a Sedgwick County courtroom via closed-circuit television. He's charged with murder and two counts of child abuse stating he unlawfully beat and shook Brexley Grace Franklin.

Franklin's bond was set at $250,000.

He's scheduled to be back in court on Oct. 4.

Police arrested a man Thursday evening in for first-degree murder and child abuse.

Haysville police say officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Sarah Lane on Saturday for a four-month-old baby possibly having a seizure.

The baby was taken to the hospital in critical condition. At the hospital, it was discovered the infant had internal injuries. The child died on Thursday.

Thursday evening, police arrested 32-year-old Andrew Franklin for first-degree and child abuse.

Neighbors say the 4 month old is a baby girl.

One neighbor says police took evidence from the home things like a lamp and swing.

The neighbor also said he often saw Franklin and a woman with two other kids at the apartment.

Haysville police say the case is still under investigation and is set to be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office Monday afternoon.
