The Wichita Police Department says it's investigating after a body is found inside a truck in a north Wichita neighborhood.
Police say Friday afternoon, a neighbor near 23rd North and Coolidge (in the area of 21st North and Amidon) called 911 for a welfare check.
On that welfare check, police say officers found a man's body inside a red pickup. Police say that man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say a coroner was called to the scene as they begin to investigate what they're calling "a suspicious death."
Police say it's unknown how long the man may have been in the truck, but they've been told the pickup's been at the scene since yesterday (Thursday).
At this point, police have not given a name nor description of the man and say it's too early to determine a cause of death.
In a briefing a little after 3:30 p.m. Friday, police say the area near 23rd and Coolidge will remain closed for several hours.
