Man arrested for Thanksgiving shooting in S. Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. Update Friday, Nov. 29, 2019

The Wichita Police Department arrested Christopher Nicholas Cox on charges of aggravated arson, aggravated battery, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon and interference with a law-enforcement officer.

Police responded to a call early Thursday evening in the 2100 block of West Grant in which a 33-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

That man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

When officers arrived at a home in the 2100 block of West Grant Street they found the 33-year-old victim. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say they do possibly have a known suspect and are following up on that. They believe both the suspect and victim knew each other and there is no threat to the public.
