MCPHERSON, Kan. (KWCH) McPherson Middle School has been placed on lockdown Tuesday morning due to a police chase.

The McPherson County Sheriff’s Department says around 10:20 a.m., a deputy tried to stop a vehicle at Kansas and Champlain, and the people inside the vehicle got out and ran.

The school says students remain in their classrooms during a hard lockdown and no one is allowed out into the halls.

Both the McPherson Sheriff’s Department and the McPherson Police Department are working the incident.
