Actress Alyssa Milano's social media protest against sexual assault and harassment is gaining major steam.
It started with a Sunday tweet.
Her post read in part "If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote 'me too' as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem."
If you’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted write ‘me too’ as a reply to this tweet. pic.twitter.com/k2oeCiUf9n— Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) October 15, 2017
Hashtag "me too" was quickly trending on Twitter and celebrities began lending their voices to the cause.
Stars including Lady Gaga, Patricia Arquette, and Rosario Dawson have joined Milano in a show of solidarity on social media.
It comes amid a growing number of sex abuse allegations against film producer Harvey Weinstein.
He's facing sexual misconduct accusations spanning multiple decades, including rape allegations which he denies.
