Midweek chance for storms

By  |

Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that after a warm start to the week, a cold front will arrive on Wednesday with chances for showers and storms. We will also have to watch for some strong storms to impact south central and eastern Kansas.

Skies will be mostly clear with south breezes continuing for much of the state. Lows will be in the 50s to begin the day Tuesday, and in the afternoon, sunshine will help to warm most of the state back above 80.

Dry weather is expected for the area during Wednesday morning and early afternoon, but during the evening, storm chances will ramp up. Highest chances for severe weather will be east of a Medicine Lodge to Hutchinson to Manhattan line. Large hail and some strong winds will be the primary severe threats.

Cooler weather and windy conditions will prevail on Thursday with highs near 60.
