Motorcycle rider killed in overnight crash

A 19-year-old is dead after a crash betwen a motorcycle and a car overnight.

Emergency crews responded to the 1700 block of S. Southwest Drive, that's near Harry and West Street, shortly before 1:00 a.m..

Officers said a 44-year-old man was driving a gold Toyota leaving a business and pulled out onto the frontage road to go northbound. Two motorcycle drivers were racing southbound on the frontage road when the 19-year-old rider hit the Toyota.

The second motorcycle driver left the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers say speed is believed to be a factor in this accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
