Power restored in Mulvane after car crashes into utility pole

MULVANE, Kan. (KWCH) 8:06 a.m.

Power has been restored to thousands of Mulvane residents after an early morning car crash.
The Mulvane School District has cancelled school Friday after a car crash caused a city-wide power outage.

Police say a car crashed into a power pole near 103rd and south Rock. The main line that feeds power was damaged in the accident.

Officers say the driver was able to walk home and have someone take them to the hospital for treatment. No word on the person's condition.

Mulvane Fire Rescue is at the police department helping to power the building so dispatchers can continue to calls.

Westar and City of Mulvane crews are trying to fix the problem but they could not say when power would be fully restored.
