Need a last-minute, inexpensive Valentine's date idea?

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) We compiled a few things to do around your town that you won't need a reservation for and don't need to spend a lot of money on for this Valentine's Day.

Love your partner and love your community by going on a date as a volunteer at one of Wichita's community organizations.

Bike Walk Wichita hosts volunteer opportunities every Tuesday and Thursday where people can come help fix up donated bikes. Learn more about bicycles and other bike-friendly initiatives in Wichita. Volunteering starts at 6:00 p.m. on Valentine's Day and runs until 8:00 p.m. at 131 S Laura in downtown Wichita. More info here.

The Kansas Humane Society is also always looking for volunteers for a number of tasks that involve working with animals. See more information about volunteering at KHS on their website.

Instead of spending money on expensive dinner reservations, try cooking a romantic dinner at home. Couples can spend time together in the kitchen while also enjoying a homecooked dinner.

Executive Chef John Michael provides several concepts for couples to try out if they don't want to spend a lot of money on Valentine's Day dinners. For the first dish, chef built a cheese and cutlery board. His advises to go with a variety of cheese flavors, meat flavors, and add several nuts or olives.

What better way to build relationships than building muscle? Grab your partner and go for a jog. Several Wichita-area gyms are also offering couples deals to get you started.

Genesis Health Clubs is offering a partners' yoga class for beginners, intermediate, or advanced levels. The yoga class takes place next Tuesday, February 19th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Read more here.
