New York-based company buys Towne West Square mall

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) The Towne West Square Mall has a new owner. Kohan Retail Investment Group made the purchase last week, according to new owner Mike Kohan.

The mall is now listed on the New York-based company's Property Portfolio page.

Kohan says his company plans to remodel the mall and make repairs. He says his goal is to bring in new tenants that will draw in customers.

Kohan says the mall will be open to businesses that may not have been able to get in before including local vendors.

He says he also plans to bring in new tenants to the food court and for entertainment. He says he wants to make the mall a place where parents want to bring kids.

The Kohan Retail Investment Group is known for investing in mall properties and currently owns 27 of them.

Towne West Square Mall is currently anchored by The Dillard's Clearance Center, JCPenney, Bosley Tires, Dick's Sporting Goods and the Wichita Animal Action League (WAAL).
