WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) The Pract Wetland Park is now open in west Wichita.
Located at 9926 W. 29th St. N. (near 29th & Maize), the City of Wichita says the park is "one of the few remaining wetlands in the Midwest."
The city calls the Pracht Wetlands Park a safe haven for migratory birds, muskrats, frogs and many other wildlife species.
Visitors can view the vegetation and bird blind structures using one of the elevated boardwalks.
Once known as Cadillac Lake, the land was originally used for duck hunting and farming by the Pracht family.
The park is open from dusk until dawn. It is free.
