As police continue the search for people in the suspect vehicle connected with a deadly hit-and-run motorcycle crash Sunday near downtown Wichita, Eyewitness News learns more about the 22-year-old man killed in that crash.

Police say Lamont McClary's motorcycle stalled on East Kellogg. A car hit the motorcycle and the car's driver and passengers got out and ran away from the scene.

Wednesday, Eyewitness News learned McClary was engaged to be married and spoke with his fiance who says she wants to keep his memory alive.

Nancy Perez and McClary got engaged last August and in October, he moved to Wichita to be with her. Perez says she still can't believe the man she was going to marry is gone. As she grieves, she hangs on to the memories.

"I have so many pictures and so many dumb videos of him, random stuff like dancing or just being silly," Perez says.

She says she met McClary overseas in 2017 when they were both serving in the military. In October, he made the move to Wichita from South Carolina.

"He dropped everything back in South Carolina," Perez says. "He lived close to his daughter too and he completely dropped everything to move out here."

Adding to the disbelief in what happened is that the people in the car that hit McClary and his motorcycle didn't offer any help.

"Whenever I heard that, that they just completely left him, I was like, even if the car was stolen or they were under the influence or something, they could've at least helped him," Perez says. "They could've done CPR. They could've called 911."

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information in the case is asked to WPD Accident Follow-Up Detectives at 316-350-3692 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
