Owners share plan to sell Prairie Rose Chuckwagon in Benton

BENTON, Kan. The owners of the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper in Benton say this upcoming season will be their last.

Greg and J.W. Johnson announced they're selling the Prairie Rose Ranch in a note shared on the Facebook page for the facility where customers can enjoy a meal and live country music.

The Johnsons say Greg's insurance insurance business has supplemented the Prairie Rose Chuckwagon through the years, but "not being able to work due to four spine surgeries during the past four years has made it impossible to continue on our own."

"For 12 years, we have believed in the importance of a faith-based, family-oriented entertainment venue. We know that God brought us here and only He knows what the future holds for the Rose," the owners say. "Our prayer is to still be a part of this special place."

The Johnsons say they'll continue hosting shows at the Prairie Rose until the New Year.
