Parents escorted out of Wichita middle school basketball game after fight

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Wichita Public Schools says parents were escorted out during a middle school basketball game Monday night after arguing broke out in the stands.

The fight happened at Hamilton Middle School, they were playing Marshall Middle School.

The school district says a security guard walked those who were involved in the argument out of the gym.

A spokesperson for Wichita Public Schools says there were no injuries and the district is still investigating the situation. They did not say what the fight was about or how it started.

Parents tell us the people involved were showing bad sportsmanship after the game.

The Wichita Public Schools Athletic Director, J.Means, says any bad behavior is not tolerated.

"You are either three things, a player, a coach, or a fan. Be a fan and enjoy the games and support everyone," said Means.

The district says it canceled the boys' game scheduled to be played afterward for safety reasons.
