Inter-Faith Ministries is now accepting homeless pet owners at its year-round, 30-day shelter, the Inter-Faith Inn.
The Inter-Faith Inn becomes the first and only pet-friendly shelter in the state.
At this time, the Inn is only accepting dogs in the shelter but has plans to accommodate cats in the near future.
Intakes for homeless pet owners and their pets will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 pm at the Inn at 320 E. Central.
Veterinarians will be on site to examine the animals and provide basic care prior to being accepted into the shelter, where three dog runs have been set up in the rear of the facilities.
Clients must confirm availability and secure a spot by calling the shelter at 316-264-8051 prior to 4 p.m. on the day they wish to check in.
