Police: Kansas City, Kan. homicide suspect may be in Wichita

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KWCH) Kansas City, Kan. police say a person they're trying to locate in connection with a homicide that happened last week may be in Wichita.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the area of 60th and Leavenworth Road around 2:38 p.m. on Friday. They found a man in his 20s who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Initially, police asked for help to locate a vehicle and a person of interest. The vehicle was located on Tuesday in the area of 13th and Euclid in Kansas City, Mo. It is believed the vehicle was parked there on Sept. 13 after the incident occurred.

Police say they've been told that the suspect was last seen walking west away from that location.

Now, they're trying to identify the person who we believe was in a relationship with the victim - and may be headed to Wichita.
