Wichita police arrest mother for felony murder in 2-year-old boy's death

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Wichita police arrested 23-year-old Kimberly Compass of Wichita for felony murder in connection with the death of her son, 2-year-old Zayden Jaynesahkluah, last month.

Around 9:45 a.m. on Friday, May 31, officers responded to an assist EMS call at the Sunset Motel in the 2300 block of south Broadway, regarding Jaynesahkluah not breathing. They arrived and pronounced the child dead on the scene.

Investigators have been continually working the case and recently received information from the Regional Forensic Science Center, which led to the arrest.

The investigation is ongoing and the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office
