Mt. Hope death ruled suicide

MOUNT HOPE, Kan. (KWCH) - UPDATE Tuesday 12:50 p.m.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says a death in the town of Mount Hope has been ruled a suicide. It is no longer being investigated as suspicious.


UPDATE Sunday 8:50 p.m.

Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter confirmed with Eyewitness News Sunday that his office is investigating a suspicious death in Mt. Hope.

Authorities confirmed Travis Allen, 37 of Mt. Hope, died in his home sometime over the weekend.

Sheriff's deputies have been on scene investigating since around 5:00 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators are still trying to determine if the death was accidental. Right now, deputies are not looking for any suspects.

Sheriff Easter says there is no threat to the public.


The Sedgwick County Sheriff's office is investigating in the 500 Block of South Daily in Mt. Hope.

Right now there isn't any information available about what happened but the Sheriff's Office says they plan on releasing more information soon.
