It's shaping up to be a nice weather weekend for Kansas. Clouds this morning will give way to mostly sunny skies statewide today. Winds will be light, but temperatures will be chilly. After a cold start to the morning, temperatures will only reach the 30s and low 40s. Clear skies and light winds tonight will allow temperatures to fall into the teens and low 20s by early Sunday morning. Sunny to partly cloudy skies on Sunday with temperatures in the 40s, mean another nice day for Christmas shopping. Only 3 weekends left to hit the stores.
The wind will crank up from the south on Tuesday, with gusts 30-35 m.p.h. Dry weather will continue through Wednesday with highs in the 40s and 50s. Another weather disturbance will move into Kansas on Thursday and Friday, bringing a chance of rain and rain changing to snow by Thursday evening. The weather system that will bring this potential wet weather, is currently over the Bering Sea and numerous changes can occur to the track and strength of this system. Expect more updates and fine tuning to the forecast as we move into the work week.
