Roger Marshall elected to Congress

Dr. Roger Marshall will replace Tim Huelskamp in Washington. Marshall won District 1 with 66% of the vote in Tuesday's election, beating out Independent Alan LaPolice.

"I'm ready to get to work is what I'm ready to do," Marshall told Eyewitness News.

He says he vows to push for Kansans on the farm.

"Get on the Ag committee," Marhsall said. "I'm gonna get on the Ag committee, give Kansans the voice back on the agriculture committee, get this economy turned around."

Marshall says he owes everything to the people who helped him cover the campaign trail in Kansas.

"Just today my son and I went from Great Bend to El Dorado to Wamego and back and everywhere we've went, we've just had a nice, warm reception," Marshall said.

Now, it's time to head off to Washington, where Marshall says he will be focused on the economy, healthcare, education and, of course, agriculture.
