Salvation Army distributes free coats to those in need

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) The Salvation Army has kicked off its winter coat drive in Wichita. The organization is offering free coats and other winter items to those who need it.

The Salvation Army has two Wichita locations where you can pick up a free coat -- the Citadel at 1739 S. Elpyco, and West Orchard Community Center at 1910 S. Everett. Each location will be open from Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Organizers say the donated coats were cleaned by In the Bag Cleaners. It took three trucks to deliver them to be distributed.

The coat drive is open to anyone. All you need are ID's for everyone in the household. You'll also be asked to fill out a form to help the Salvation Army keep track it's giving.
