Search for Lucas Hernandez continues
Search parties continue to look for any sign of missing 5-year-old Lucas Hernandez.
Some groups still meet weekly, hoping to find anything that could lead them to the missing boy.
The Kansas Search Investigation organized a public search Sunday morning. They said the rain wouldn't stop them from their 89th day of searching.
"We’re parents. We’re grandparents. We want justice for Lucas Hernandez. We want to bring this little boy home to get closure for the family and to bring justice for whomever is involved in this," says Misty Cox.
Volunteers say they won't give up looking for him. KSI says volunteers search for him every single day because there is a lot of ground to cover in Sedgwick County and Butler County.
As far as where the group is searching, that's something it wants to keep private.
"We are not to give the information of the location, and the reasoning behind it being there is integrity of the case that has to be maintained, and we do not want areas that have potentially been cleared to be potentially tampered with and or viewed," says Cox.
With summer approaching and more people being off work, the group hopes to gain more boots on the ground.
"We would love and encourage them to come out and support our team with the efforts, so we could teach them how to properly search the areas and then they could potentially go out on their own for a little smaller scale areas."
