Search for suspect follows robbery at WaKeeney pharmacy

Trego County Sheriff's Office

WAKEENEY, Kan. The Trego County Sheriff's Office Wednesday released photos it hopes will lead them to making an arrest in a Wednesday afternoon armed robbery at a WaKeeney pharmacy.

At about 2 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff's office, WaKeeney Police Department and Kansas Highway Patrol responded to Clelands Pharmacy after a man "presented a firearm to the clerk and stole prescription narcotics."

The sheriff's office says "multiple law enforcement agencies are active in the western Kansas area searching for the suspect and suspect vehicle."

The man suspected in the crime is described as standing 5'8 to 6-feet tall with long, black hair and a thick, dark-colored beard.

"At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a black hoodie, grey beanie, blue jeans and gloves," the Trego County Sheriff's Office says.

On its Facebook page, the sheriff's office shared a photo of a dark gray Ford-F-150 pickup. The sheriff's office says the truck in the photo is not the actual suspect vehicle, but is the same, make, model and color as the truck used by the robbery suspect.
