WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) A Sedgwick County Sheriff's Deputy was arrested Monday following a disturbance at his home.
Sheriff Jeff Easter said Vicent Folston was off-duty when the arrest occurred on Monday, March 11.
The 29-year-old was booked into the Sedgwick County jail for domestic battery. He has since bonded out.
Easter said moving forward, he will name of any deputy that has been arrested or charged. He said citizens who are arrested for similar crimes are named through the booking process. Plus, there are no protections in place for officers or deputies not to be released.
Easter said he will not name suspects unless there is a danger to the public.
Folston has been employed with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office for two-and-a-half years as a road patrol deputy.
In addition to the criminal case, an investigation is being conducted by the Professional Standards Unit of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office.
Folston has been placed on leave pending the outcome of that investigation.
