Sheriff's office identifies man found dead south of Wichita, vehicle found

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. Update: Tuesday, Jan. 30 - 6:20 p.m.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says the 2006 gray Volkswagen Jetta it was searching for in connection with the suspicious death of 26--year-old Ryan Bolen has been located.

Bolen was found dead on Monday in a ditch near 81st Street South and Hydraulic.

No other details are being released at this time.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office identifies a man found along a road south of Wichita Monday as 26-year-old Ryan Bolen, of Haysville.

The sheriff's office says a passerby found Bolen's body Monday afternoon near the road at 8100 South Hydraulic.

"Investigators are working the case as a suspicious death and are looking into the activities of the victim between January 28 and January 29," the sheriff's office says.

The sheriff's office says it is also looking for a 2006 gray Volkswagen Jetta with Kansas license plate number 653-HUL.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office says it is working an active crime scene at 81st Street South and Hydraulic, south of Wichita.

The sheriff's office says it is investigating the death of a man whose body was found Monday afternoon as suspicious.

Sedgwick County Sheriff's Lt. Timothy Myers says the sheriff's office received a notification at about 2:15 p.m. Monday of a man lying in the ditch next to the road in the 8100 block of South Hydraulic.

"Arriving units located an adult white male that was pronounced deceased at the scene," Myers says. "We consider this a suspicious death and we are asking for help from the public."
