Accountant sentenced for embezzling more than $200,000 from employer

A Sedgwick County judge sentenced a Maize woman to five year's probation for embezzling more than $200,000 from a company where she worked as an accountant.

The Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office says Misty Leiker, 36, made $209,666 in purchases using her company card from ERI Solutions, which is based in Colwich.

The district attorney's office says the purchases took place from June 1, 2016 to April 20, 2017. Leiker purchased household goods, antiques, tools, toys, and landscaping services.

Leiker made an initial restitution payment of $15,000 at her sentencing. She must pay $500 every month and go to counseling while on probation.

She faces 32 months in prison if she violates her probation.
