Several more rounds of rain to come for Kansas

By  |

Meteorologist Mark Larson says several more rounds of storms and heavy rain will roll across Kansas at times through early next week so rivers, and flood concerns, will stay high for the foreseeable future. Tuesday is another Storm Team 12 Weather alert day due to continued flood concerns.

Look for more periods of rain and storms Tuesday, there may be some brief breaks from time to time but it'll be another soggy day. Some areas will see rainfall totals in the 4 to 6 inch range by the time our early week storm system lifts off to the northeast of Kansas tonight. Tuesday highs will only top-out in the 50s, 60s and lower 70s with gusty southerly winds under a gray sky.

We'll get a break from the rain Wednesday and it will be warmer with highs in the 70s and 80s statewide.

More rain and storms are likely late Thursday and, off and on, through our Memorial Day weekend.

Flooding will continue to be a huge concern, due to the already saturated ground and the potential for more locally heavy rains, through early next week, causing rivers and creeks to run high, or out of their banks again, for several days to come.
