WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) A store that sells CBD - or cannabidiol oil - is open for business in at 4004 W. Central in Wichita.
The owner of CBD American Shaman Wichita says the oils is THC free and legal to sell. He also says it can help with a variety of health problems.
"We just put a full drop into the water and then shake it up and that right there would be a 10-milligram dose," says Trevor Burdett.
He also claims it's a remedy that changes lives.
"Our product doesn't come from marijuana it comes from industrial hemp which is grown with a very low amount of THC," continues Burdett.
He says the CBD oil he sells won't get you high. The THC, or the compound that causes a high effect, has been taken out, making the oil legal in Kansas.
"There is a whole population out here in the western side of Kansas that just doesn't have access to this," says Burdett.
He says he's seen the impacts of what the oil can do. He says it can help with a variety of things like autism, ADD, stress and muscle pain.
Burdett even believes it can even help people get off opioids.
"It's something that a lot of people need and need to be educated about it," he says.
Burdett says the CBD oil is tested by the FBI and the DEA before it hits the shelves.
He also says if it has less than 0.3 percent THC, it's considered legal in Kansas.
Mary Ware says she uses it for skin issues.
"I just used the lotion just last night and it did make a difference," she claims.
Burdett says you must be 18 or older to buy from his store. He hopes opening his doors will get rid of the stigma around CBD.
"Live a day to day life that they should be able to," he says.
