Slowly back to summer sizzle and steam

Meteorologist Mark Larson says temperatures will climb, a bit, day by day, and the humidity will also be higher through our weekend and into next week. We could see our first real heat wave this summer.

Look for sunny skies Friday with afternoon highs ranging from around 90 east to the mid 90s across western Kansas. Southerly winds should stay under 20 mph today and the humidity will be a bit higher than Thursday but it shouldn't be too sticky or uncomfortable later in the day.

Our heat relief will be brief because there's more hot summer temps on the way to Kansas, not so much this weekend but especially next week when highs climb to around 100 and the steamy sweat-factor numbers top 105 toward midweek.
