More heat, no end in sight

By  |

Meteorologist Dean Jones says to expect another hot day across Kansas with sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 90s.

The weather topic continues to be centered around the heat in September. While record heat is not expected, temperatures will remain well above normal today through the upcoming week. Highs will be in the upper 80s and 90s across Kansas. Highs in mid September are typically in the upper 70s and low 80s.

South winds will continue to be gusty through the afternoon hours, diminishing during the evening and overnight. The winds will be strongest in western Kansas on Monday with gusts near 40 m.p.h., then central Kansas will see gusty winds on Tuesday.

Our chances of rain and storms begin to increase by Thursday, with the best chance of rain coming in Friday night into next weekend as a slow moving cold front moves through the Kansas.
