Wichita police present case after dog is dumped and left for dead

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Update (Oct. 20): Wichita police present their case regarding a malnourished dog found in an alley Oct. 9.

The dog named Aadya was starving after she'd been left for dead. We've learned Aadya is improving and now, the Sedgwick County district attorney will review the case to determine if any charges should be filed.


Police locate a suspect in the case of a dog who was dumped and left for dead in north Wichita.

Lt. Brian Sigman with Animal Control says contact has been made with the suspect but no arrest has been made.

On October 9, Resident Vinny Currie reported seeing someone drop off the pit bull, named Aadya, in the1800 block of N. Arkansas. He said she was nothing by skin and bones.

Currie took her to a local vet clinic to be treated. She was in very critical condition.

Beauties and Beasts was able to find a foster home for Aadya and says she is now doing much better.
