Voters in Thomas County Tuesday night approved a one-quarter-cent sales tax increase.

The additional money will go to complete the criminal justice center in Colby and any leftover money from that will go toward fixing the county's courthouse building.

Unofficial results show the sales-tax increase passing by a margin of 700 to 412. The quarter-cent sales tax goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2020.
