Message 'threatening violence' found at Newton High School

NEWTON, Kan. (KWCH) A message threatening violence was found at Newton High School on Thursday.

A spokesperson for Newton Public Schools said the message was found on school grounds. It threatened violence on Dec. 10.

Newton police were called in to investigate. Currently, they don't have any details on a suspect.

The district said it is taking measures to make sure students are safe because student and staff safety is a top priority.

They would not say if there would be an increased police presence on the 10th.
