Two critically hurt in south Wichita crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Update Dec 26

The Wichita Police Department says a crash on Christmas morning leaves two people hospitalized.

Police say an officer was at the intersection of George Washington Boulevard and Pawnee around 2 a.m. when he saw a crash involving a Jeep Cherokee and a Chevy Tahoe.

The jeep was traveling eastbound through the intersection when it was struck by the Chevy Tahoe that was headed southbound on George Washington.

Officer Paul Cruz says the jeep was driven by a 29-year-old woman while a 26-year-old man was driving the other vehicle,

The crash caused both drivers to be ejected. Emergency crews transported them with serious injuries to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say speed was a factor in the crash.

Wichita police said two people were critically hurt early Monday morning in a wreck.

Dispatchers said it happened at about 2:00am at the intersection of George Washington Boulevard and Pawnee.

Investigators said both victims were ejected from their cars.

Police said officers are unsure what caused the two cars to collide.
