Two hurt in multiple vehicle crash on K-96 at Hillside

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Two people were seriously injured in a crash on K-96 at Hillside Friday morning.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a truck was traveling eastbound on KS-96 when the driver suffered a suspected medical problem causing him to swerve and strike the cable median.

The vehicle then continued into westbound traffic, sideswiping a car. The truck then continued eastbound in the westbound lanes and struck a third vehicle head-on.

Crews closed westbound K-96 at Oliver to work the crash.

The driver of the first vehicle suffered minor injuries. The driver and passenger in the second vehicle were not hurt. The driver of the third vehicle, a 22-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
