BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (KWCH) A Connecticut boy may not be alive if not one woman's self-sacrifice.
Bridgeport police say Shanta Jordan jumped in front of a vehicle to rescue the boy before it smashed into the side of a restaurant.
Both the boy and Jordan were hurt, but police say Jordan's body absorbed most of the impact.
The boy almost lost his legs, but surgeons were able to save him.
Jordan remains in the hospital recovering. Police say they are planning a tribute for her once she is released.
