WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) A Wichita nonprofit dedicated to helping people batting cancer unveils its new waiting room for patients.
Victory in the Valley held its grand opening Wednesday for the renovated area designed to comfort patients undergoing cancer treatments, or those waiting to see a doctor.
The room's features include places to read or put together puzzles. It's all designed to make patients feel at ease.
"We tried to choose the furnishings with comfort in mind and the place where patients can come and feel at home," says Victory in the Valley Executive Director Diana Thomi.
Community donations paid for renovations and Wichita law firm Slape and Howard stepped up to match those contributions.
