WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Wichita Public Schools will release a more detailed plan on how they will proceed with the continuous learning plan for students on Friday.
Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson made the announcement on Tuesday during what she said would be her last in-person media briefing citing the stay at home order set to take effect for Sedgwick County, including Wichita, at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday.
Thompson said the plan will include more information paper packets and resources online. She said the plan would include information for special education, English and details from curriculum specialists.
Thompson said teachers do not need to begin development plans and that they would learn more on learn more next week.
Parents can also expect more guidance and resources regarding educating their children on Friday.
Starting on Wednesday, March 25, meals will be made available at more locations. All children 18 years old and under can receive a free meal. There is no paperwork or signup required. Once again, the child must be present in order to receive a meal.
There will be drive-up and walk-up service available. And, you can pick up meals at any school, regardless of where your child attends.
