WPD Crime Sheets: Thursday, April 28
Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

6:37 am
A 58/f reports a man knocking on her patio door and window in the 6800 block of W. Shade. She says the guy is the same person who has exposed himself in the past. Police didn’t find him.

8:07 am
A 44/m says someone threw raw eggs at his home in the 3000 block of N. Brush Creek. He didn’t know who did it, but there was no damage.
Suspicious character…
8:13 am
A 31/f says a guy parked behind the bank where she works in the 10100 block of W. 21st N. He walked around to the front of the building and came inside. She says he was looking around as he walked very slowly toward a bank teller. He then asked the teller how much it costs to open a checking account. The teller told him, he said “ok”, then turned around and walked out of the building - looking around the entire time. He then walked around the building back to his vehicle and was talking on his cellphone. He left in his vehicle without incident.
Attacked & robbed…
8:40 am
A 67/m says someone struck him several times in the head with a rock and took his property. This happened in the 1000 block of E. Douglas. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Stolen car…
9:57 am
A 25/m says he woke up and discovered his car was missing from his driveway in the 1900 block of W. 29th S. He says the keys were in the console, but the vehicle was not left running. He says the car has tape on the left taillight, a dent in the front right quarter-panel, a sunroof, tinted windows, factory chrome rims and a blue “eye” hanging from the inside rear-view mirror.
Road rage…
10:11 am
A 45/f says a guy nearly ran her off the road at 21st and Tyler. She says the guy then pulled over and got out of his truck in a very aggressive and verbal manner. She says she was concerned for her safety. When she told the guy she was on the phone with 911, he had second thoughts and got back in his truck.
Tagged tank…
10:51 am
A 25/f says someone tagged the aquarium at a facility in the 100 block of E. Pawnee with a Sharpie marker. It said “Mariela (heart} Luis” and some other text. Her boss came and took a photo. The report does not state whether the writing could be removed.
Peeled…
1:18 pm
A 62/f says someone pryed off the “Econoline” emblem from the rear of her 1995 Ford Econoline Van. That emblem was found on the ground. There is a connecting case, but it was not from the same day.
Silent caller…
2:24 pm
A 78/f reports someone calling her seven to ten times per day. When she answers, no one is there (or if there is someone there, they don’t say anything). She says she’s contacted the phone company, but the number is from a business and nothing can be done to block it. She just wants the calls to stop. She says she’s on the No Call List, but that has not helped.
Dog bite threat…

A 25/f says her neighbor came to her door with a gun. She says he was upset because her dog had just bit his daughter. He didn’t point the gun at her, but she did feel threatened. She decided she did not wish to press charges.
Barking dog…
6:37 pm
A 25/f says her neighbor’s dogs have been barking at all hours of the day every day and it’s disturbing her peace. This is not related to the story above.
