Man killed in SE Wichita shooting identified

Wichita Police have identified the man killed in a shooting on South Stearman Court this weekend as 35-year-old Daniel Lopez-Silva.

Police say Lopez-Silva was visiting friends in that area.

At one point, he went outside. A vehicle drove up and someone in that vehicle fired several shots at him.

He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not made any arrests.

A man was killed during a shooting Sunday morning in southeast Wichita.

Public Information Officer Paul Cruz tells Eyewitness News that police were sent to the 4000 block of South Stearman Court.

Cruz said officers on the scene found a 33-year-old man had been shot during a disturbance.

The victim was taken to the hospital.

Police have not released details about the shooter. Cruz said they do not believe this was a gang-related crime.
