Warmer for a while with storms returning mid-week

By  |

Meteorologist Merril Teller says that Sunday will be sunny and mild, but storms are back in the forecast by the middle of the week.

Today, with sunny skies, highs will reach the 60s across the state. The wind will be mild, around 5 to 15 mph.

We'll stay sunny through Tuesday with highs in the upper 70s on Monday and around 80 on Tuesday. The wind will start to pick up on Tuesday as our next storm system approaches from the west.

That storm system will move into western Kansas on Tuesday, moving into central Kansas on Wednesday. The best chance for showers and storms will arrive Wednesday evening. A few of these storms could be strong to severe, with hail and high wind gusts being the primary threat, mainly for central and eastern Kansas.

Showers will linger on Thursday, with highs dropping into the low 60s.

Sunshine will return for the end of the work week and it will continue into next weekend with highs bouncing back into the 70s.
