Heavy rainfall causes water damage at Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. The area flooding from heavy rainfall over the weekend caused damage at Wichita State University.

Tuesday, the Elliott School of Communication reported on its Facebook page that Elliott Hall and other parts of campus experienced water damage.

Over the weekend, as much as 9.13 inches was reported to have fallen in northeast Wichita. At Elliott Hall, near 17th North and Hillside, the school reported wet carpets in the main office and minor flooding in the basement.

The Elliott School says the main office will be closed for the rest of the week to allow carpets to dry and advises that anyone needing to reach faculty or staff members from the school do so through email.
