A cold front is moving slowly across Kansas this morning and will produce scattered showers and storms throughout the day. The additional cloud cover, showers and storms will keep temperatures from reaching 100 today. Unfortunately, the humidity will remain high across southern and eastern Kansas. An Excessive Heat Warning continues for south-central and southeast Kansas until 7 P.M., as heat indices will range between 102 and 108 again today.
The rest of Kansas will enjoy more comfortable temperatures, with highs reaching the upper 70s and 80s. The cold front may also produce a few strong to severe storms later today across central and eastern Kansas. Damaging wind gusts will be the primary concern with storms as we approach sunset.
Storms will exit Kansas late tonight and drier (less humid) air will move in Monday. Highs Monday will be in the 80s statewide. The "feels nice" temperatures will stick around most of the week as high pressure from Canada builds in Tuesday and Wednesday. Dry weather will persist through the week with temperatures warming into the 90s by the weekend.
