An off-duty officer with the Wichita Police Department was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail Monday for domestic violence battery and theft, the department says.
The WPD did not identify the officer but says the officer is a nine-year veteran with the department. Family members tell Eyewitness News the officer is Jax Rutledge. A person matching that name was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail Monday on matching charges.
The officer is on paid administrative leave while the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office investigates the case, the WPD says.
