Here’s a look at some of the cases Wichita Police handled over the weekend. Read more recent cases here:

Shooting threat…

1:15 am (Saturday)

A 42/f reports someone threatening to shoot everyone inside the house in the 300 block of N. Madison. She says he also punched her while she was trying to leave the house, she suffered minor injuries. Police found a shotgun at the scene. The person accused of making the threats was taken to the hospital after taking a bunch of narcotic pills and making suicidal statements.

Shoplifter busted…

2:29 am

A 24/m reports someone stealing from a business in the 3500 block of N. Rock Road. Police caught the guy and recovered the stolen items. He was given a court date and released. He was also told not to return to stores owned by that company.

Business burglarized...

7:45 am

A 58/f reports someone getting into a business in the 3500 block of N. Rock Road. The crook got in through a back door, causing some damage. They then took some property. Total damage and loss is estimated at a little more than $450.00.

Put down…

7:51 am

A 42/m reports finding a deer in the roadway with a broken leg near 71st Street South and Rutan. The deer was shot with a shotgun by an officer. The man who found the deer took possession of the deer with a salvage tag.

Dumping trash…

4:07 pm

A 68/f reports someone dumping trash in an alley in the 3100 block of W. Douglas. She does not know who is doing it.

Armed robbery…

6:09 pm

A 28/f reports being robbed by someone with a weapon at a business in the 4500 block of E. Pawnee. She was not hurt.

Driving and shooting…

10:31 pm

A 23/m reports two people driving through his neighborhood in the 700 block of S. Pinecrest, firing guns. Police found several shell casings in the area, but no property damage or injuries.

Lots of phones…

10:43 pm

A 39/m reports someone coming into a business in the 13400 block of W. Maple and purchasing several “disposable” cell phones. He checked with other stores in the chain and found the same guy had done the same thing at several locations around town.

Beer bottle attack…

1:40 am (Sunday)

A 24/m reports being struck with a beer bottle across the face, causing a severe cut. He was on the dance floor of a business in the 5500 block of W. Kellogg at the time. He refused medical treatment, but wound up going to the hospital on his own later. He didn’t want to press charges.

Prostitution…

2:08 am

A 36/m was arrested for possible prostitution at 12th and Broadway. He was booked into jail on drug charges as well.
