Wichita State basketball player arrested for criminal damage to property, theft

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Wichita police arrested a current basketball player for Wichita State University on Thursday.

According to the online booking sheets, Theordore "Teddy" Allen was arrested in the 1700 block of N. Gentry for criminal damage to property, suspicion of domestic violence and theft.

The report shows Allen is accused of damaging a woman's cell phone and stealing a set of vehicle and apartment keys.

Allen has since bonded out of the Sedgwick County jail.

The Shocker forward hails from Mesa, Arizona. The Wichita State sophomore transferred from West Virginia in May of 2018.

Wichita State Director of Athletics Darron Boatright released the following statement:

“We are aware of the situation regarding men’s basketball student-athlete Teddy Allen and are gathering additional details in order to gain a broader understanding of the situation. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Allen’s arraignment is scheduled for July 29.
