Next Tuesday, the Wichita city council will discuss raising the age limit to buy tobacco from 18 to 21.
The switch will put the city on par with federal law.
Federal legislation raised the tobacco buying age from 18 to 21 last year. If approved at the city level, the city code regulating tobacco sales would get revised to match the federal legislation.
All other sections will remain as currently written.
